1st meeting held in the then Pasar Bunga to establish KASA. Pasar Bunga now not as vibrant. Almost dead. What a waste. A strategic place as the name denotes....ahhh wish  MBSA have the vision....till then...

Bulb anandalei & Dhuha

NOT a MYTH...ITS real. Big nice clone this one. thanks from nursery in melaka. desas-desus mengatakan asal pokok ni is n9. wallahua'lam.

Rasulullah s.a.w. keluar menemui penduduk Quba ketika mereka melaksanakan solat Duha, lalu . Rasulullah s.a.w. bersabda yang bermaksud: "Solat Duha dilakukan apabila anak-anak unta telah berasa kepanasan (kerana sinaran matahari):" (Riwayat Muslim dari Ahmad).

Sembahyang Dhuha berbeza dengan sembahyang sunat Isyra' (Syuruk). Waktu Dhuha ialah waktu bumi mulai panas, diberi contoh apabila anak unta mulai merasa panas semasa duduk di atas permukaan tanah, lebih kurang pukul 10 pagi. Akhir waktu Dhuha ialah masuknya waktu Zohor.

Waktu Sembahyang Sunat Isyra' ialah pula ialah sekitar 15-20 minit selepas masuk waktu Syuruk. Pahalanya dikatakan menyamai pahala haji dan umrah, 3 kali diulangi oleh Baginda.

"Sesiapa yang bersolat Fajar (Subuh) berjemaah, kemudian duduk dan mengingati Allah sehingga matahari naik, kemudian bersolah 2 rakaat, akan mendapat ganjaran seperti Haji dan Umrah." Dia berkata : Rasulullah s.a.w berkata : "sempurna, sempurna, sempurna". (Sempurna bermaksud pahala penuh)

Jabir bin Samurah (RA) berkata, "Setelah solah subuh, biasanya Rasulullah (SAW) tetap duduk di tempat solahnya sehingga setelah matahari naik." ( Sunan an-Nasai)

Ada juga diriwayatkan bahawa pahala duduk di tempat solah sehingga naik matahari adalah menyamai pahala jihad. Duduk di tempat solah sehingga naik matahari juga adalah satu jihad iaitu jihad melawan nafsu.

Liparis lacerata

Bul lepidum and Liparis lacerata both won 1st place in its respective category....:-).

For the best spp of the show, rothchild fiercely competed with lacerata and eventually won as finally chosen by Dato president...:-(. As usual the voting was done via poll. Personally, this is the best approach as each judges cant be influences by others compared to show of hand. If draw, then only show of hand will proceed. The decision to ask Dato to choose the winner for the best spp came about after the 2 plants gathered equal number of votes after 2 round of voting.

me have to abstain as lacerata is there. haiyaaa Dato, awat la....

Ini Cirr. Lion King (C. medusae X C. masterianum) betul2 buat member terliuqqqq, vincent tak nak bagi cutting tu..lecehhh..

Cikgu was admitted in icu due to heart problem. during our visit he still asking about the show. anyway, the event proceed succesfully eventho ajk panicking on the prize money. nasib baik dato came to the rescue...

am sure Cikgu miss the show soo much but its high time for the young guns to take over. Our thoughts & prayers are with you Cikgu, get well really soon cikgu...kesian anakcucu kat laman tu.

Collection of bellinas...cant really differentiate between spp and hybrid. . violacea also called violacea var bellina! every single plant are called bellina nowadays.

one flower can fill an entire room with its sweet smell, now try a few pots...!!

Cattleyas

latest bloom during this rainy season...Haadyai Delight (big flat yellow flower...catt at its best) and lueddemanniana, 2 fav catt, amongst others. big colorful flower. start collecting luddemaniana spp as this spp is easy to grow and flower. still looking for the white and pink kaler.

Coelogyne asperata

won best spp during nov show...grin, grin...



easy to grow but not flowered, tho seasonal. its ceologyne season, musim tengkujuh..(bengali kawin dah spiking...:-)). 50% shade so far works well. maybe more expose to sun will do more good. nice big waxy flower with rough lips, sadly doesnt last long. will form big clump overtime. got few pot but this is the only that flowered so far. the most was 2 spikes. healthier plant will produce longer spike, around 15 to 40 flower. slightly spicy smell, like daun serai... tapi kalu daun serai takde jgn le petik bungaaa ni oiii...

Liparis lacerata ...ll

this local lowland epiphyte spp has aroubd 1cm wide tiny flower, only one spike this time. once matured will produce longer spike.

what kalah, no Gelora, hehehe...oppps, tak baik ketawa kan orang...muahahahaha dan lagi...

Bulbophyllum anandalei - anor variation

The 1st pic is nicer in color but 2nd in arrangement. Whitish flower with contrasting blood red lips compared to the 2nd pic. Bought at the recent Putrajaya floria in july 2011 and since then has shown me 5 spikes. Good sign or not? last ditch before kiok...? hopefully not. Found out that there is a clone that can produce flower as big as dunhill 20's box. A myth or what!

Cirrhopetalum Sun Shine Queen 'Orange' and Durio Dragonhilliensis

Thanks to Khairi for the cutting. This free flowering hybrid ( Parent : Cirrhopetalum mastersianum X Cirrhopetalum corolliiferum ) is a must for KASA members...ahaks.
The yellow color variety equally nice. Nicer actually.





Akhirnya, ini dia Durio Dragonhilliensis...:-). rasa ok tapi sbb durian siam (aku rasala) bukan kampong makan kurang powerla. Buah memang besar betul, lebih kurang 14 inci.

Yang lain2 belum gugur...tungguuuuu.

Malangnya pokok tu macam nak mati. daun abis gugur. aku rasa dia berbuah pon sbb nak pastikan its survival...harap2 tak betul la.

Phalaenopsis ambonensis

A small sized, hot growing, epiphytic species from Ambon Island. So, obviously got the name from Ambon island in indonesia. Bought this species from LumChin. Nice flower but no smell. White form variety nicer. Is there alba form of this spp?? So far havent seen one tho.

Bulbophyllum corolliferum

Hardy and easy growing species that has maroon to red blooms as big as 20sen coin. Free flowering all year round. Wide spread around SEA and requires light shade for robust growth and bloom. It is a hot growing Bulbophyllum with a unique scent.

Synonym to Bulb curtisii and have seen alba form on the web!!….hishhh

Vitis vinifera aka Anggur la. sudah berbuah tapi cuma sejambak jer. Mmasam pekok. Org cakap kena selalu trim if nak kasi lebat berbuah tapi dapat berbuah sejambak pon alhamdulillah ler...nak try tanam starwberry lak...huhu..
